Interferential current (IFC) is a type of electrotherapy that uses high-frequency electrical currents to treat pain, inflammation and muscle spasms.
During an IFC treatment, electrodes are applied to the skin over the affected area, and a low-intensity electrical current is delivered to the deep tissue to reduce pain and promote healing. IFC is most commonly used to treat a variety of conditions including musculoskeletal injuries, muscle spasms, nerve pain and chronic pain.
